How to Make Stubs in MLB The Show 25

Apr-07-2025 PST

If you're new around here, Market Mondays is where we break down everything you need to know about making MLB The Show 25 stubs each week. This week, things are a little different because we don't have a content schedule available, meaning we can't be as predictive as we usually are. However, there are still plenty of ways to make stubs and maximize your in-game economy. Plus, with a potential market crash looming, now is the perfect time to prepare and strategize.

The Current State of the Market

Right now, we don't have a content schedule to rely on, which means we don't know exactly what's coming next. Typically, we'd get a sneak peek into upcoming programs, Conquest maps, or Showdowns, but this time, we're working with what we currently have. One big event on the horizon is the Tokyo Series, but we don't know how it's going to be structured or what the rewards will look like. Without that roadmap, it's harder to anticipate price shifts in the market, but that doesn't mean we can't still make a profit.

Market Crash Incoming?

One of the biggest things to watch out for is the potential for a market crash. Whether it's new content dropping, pack sales, or the influx of stubs from different game modes, prices fluctuate constantly. If you have high-value cards, you may want to consider selling now before prices dip. Likewise, if you're looking to invest, keep an eye on trends and buy low.

Earning Stubs Naturally Through Gameplay

Not everyone has the time or patience to sit and flip cards all day. Many players prefer a more natural approach, earning stubs by simply playing the game. Right now, I'm sitting at about 101,000 stubs, but that number fluctuates as I work toward the Carlos Beltrán reward, which currently sits at over 2 million stubs. The deadline for acquiring him is April 11th, so efficient stub generation is key.

Diamond Quest Mode: A Stub Generator

One of the best ways to generate stubs in MLB The Show 25 right now is Diamond Quest. If you only have 15-20 minutes to play, you can make some quick progress while earning stubs, packs, and valuable players.

• Noah Schultz Market Value: Currently sitting at around 11,500 stubs, Schultz is a great investment. His price has dropped, making him a potential flip candidate.

• Garrett Crochet Market Value: Slightly harder to obtain, holding at about 13,000 stubs, but still a good way to earn value.

• Pipeline Runs: Completing the Pipeline mission in Diamond Quest allows you to earn up to four players in a single run. While individual values may not seem high, stacking them up adds substantial stub gains over time.

The Value of Packs

While grinding Diamond Quest, you also rack up show packs, bronze and silver packs, and other rewards. Even if you don't pull high-value cards, everything adds up. Selling common cards, duplicates, and items for small amounts might not seem like much, but those small profits compound into significant stub earnings.

Team Affinity Progression

Another excellent way to earn stubs passively is through Team Affinity (TA). If you load your lineup with TA players while grinding Diamond Quest, you'll earn additional XP and stub rewards.

• Three-Inning Games: Your ball game and stadium games provide solid XP and mission progress.

• Mission Tracking: Stolen bases, home runs, hits, and doubles will all count towards program progress.

• No-Sell Players: The goal is to build a full team of No-Sell players while selling everything else for maximum stub efficiency.

Extrapolating Rewards: Why Small Gains Add Up

When you start breaking down rewards over time, the value becomes clear:

• 30 Standard Packs: Over time, this provides a steady influx of sellable items.

• 120,000 XP: Unlocks rewards along the XP path, providing more packs and stubs.

• Diamond Players: As you progress through Team Affinity, you'll gain 30 diamond players.

By focusing on incremental gains, you're setting yourself up for long-term success in the game economy.

XP Reward Path: Another Stub Source

One of the most important elements to track is the XP reward path. Not only does it provide useful players like Jake Arrieta, but it also includes pipeline packs that can yield high-value diamonds. For example:

• Dylan Crews: 23,000 stubs if you pull him.

• Bubba Chandler: 6,300 stubs for a lower-tier diamond.

• Boss Packs: Some of these have dipped, but 46,000 stubs is still a great payout.

If you're looking to complete collections, prioritizing these XP rewards can help you stack stubs quickly.

Choosing Your Division to Target First

If you're working towards the live series collection, prioritizing one division at a time is the best approach.

• NL Central Example: Players like Paul Skenes and Kyle Tucker are the gatekeepers for this division, so working toward their acquisition can help you unlock rewards faster.

• Adrián Beltré Reward: Another solid pickup that adds to team strength and stub generation.

The Power of the Wheel Spin

A key addition this year is the wheel spin, which contains premier Ultra Deluxe Chase Packs. Unlike previous years, the wording suggests these packs will rotate, meaning as new packs drop, they will be added to the wheel. Getting to the wheel spin quickly could be an excellent stub-making opportunity if you get lucky.

Multiplayer Program: A Casual Stub-Making Option

If you're looking for a more relaxed grind, the multiplayer program offers solid rewards without the high-stress nature of ranked play. Completing event-based missions earns valuable rewards while still allowing you to enjoy casual gameplay.

Final Thoughts

Despite the lack of a content schedule, there are still plenty of ways to make stubs efficiently in MLB The Show 25. Whether you're grinding Diamond Quest, flipping cards, progressing through Team Affinity, or working through the XP reward path, small gains add up over time. Keep an eye on the market, prepare for potential crashes, and take advantage of all available stub-generating opportunities to maximize your profits. Stay tuned for more Market Mondays as we continue to track the best ways to make MLB 25 stubs each week!
